Uganda 0-0 DR Congo
Uganda Kobs opened their CECAFA U-23 Challenge Cup campaign with a goalless draw against guest side DR Congo at the Bahir Dar Stadium, Ethiopia.
Though the result, the Kobs head coach Morley Byekwaso has blamed his striking line for not being effective.
“I need to thank my boys because playing a DR Congo side that is physically good and good in wing play.
“We created so many chances but our strikers were not sharp enough to put away the chances,” added Byekwaso.
Byekwaso also added that they still have time to go back and improve on the finishing.
“We need to come and put up a better performance in the second Pool A match against Tanzania. We must fight to win against Tanzania,” he added.
The Kobs will play their last game in group A against Tanzania next Sunday of which they must win if they are to progress to the semi-finals.
