Reigning Uganda Premier League champions Express Football Club has parted ways with forward Frank Kalanda “Machete” after two seasons at the club.
“#ExpressNation, The club, and forward @FrankMachette have parted ways and we wish him all the best in his future,” Express FC tweeted on Friday.
Kalanda’s contract had run out at the end of June 2021 and the club opted not to renew it.
The lanky forward who was in his second spell at the club rejoined the Red Eagles at the start of the 2019/20 season from AS Kigali.
He top-scored for the Red Eagles in the 2019/2020 season with nine league goals and helped his side finish 9th with 31 points.
In the 2020/21 campaign, the Masaza Cup graduate managed to score only five goals in all competitions.
Kalanda has managed to score 18 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions for the Red Eagles.
